Inspiring The Next Generation Of Scientists And Engineers

We had two outreaches scheduled for today. The first one would be in the H.J.E. Reid Conference Center at the NASA Langley Research Center. Our sponsor team, FRC #122, NASA KNIGHTS, gave the main presentation, but they allowed us to present as well. We had a fairly good turnout, and are hoping to get some people at NASA excited about our team. We'd also like to get some mentors down to help us.

Our second outreach was an extension of the first, except it was at the Virginia Air & Space Museum in Hampton, VA, and was open to the public. While we were presenting along with several other teams, we were the only FTC/VEX team there, and we were the only team offering kids the opportunity to drive our robots. In total, we had four robots there, three of which were driving, and a fourth one that we were able to get running.

We are hoping to keep all four robots running so that we can have more than just one at any given time. The main reason being that we can allow more kids the chance to drive within a smaller time slot.

Both of these outreach presentations went very well: We got a fairly good response from the audience and are looking forward to more outreach in the future. If you have any conferences, talks, seminars, conventions, etc., where you would like us to come and demonstrate, please drop me a line at joseph@twistrobotics.org.
