Tonight, we are mainly focusing on preparing for Saturday’s competition. Becky really wanted to go to a competition in South Boston, and unfortunately, nobody else was available to drive the robot with her. She decided to go to the competition by herself, so she had to reprogram the robot so that she could control it by herself. The final improvement we made was to test a change to the battery system, and we were able to get a few more inches of battery cord length out.
The beginner’s robot got the gearing finished, and we are still working on the arm. The goal is still to try and high-hang with the small robot, and then try to implement the ideas behind hanging into a more complex robot that will actually compete in the competitions. We are hoping to have at least some form of hanging ready and tested for competition before the end of the year.
We are going to be taking the robot to a competition this weekend, and Becky will be driving by herself. She will be working tomorrow to try and get the autonomous mode working correctly, and insure everything is running correctly. Other than that, the rest of the team is continuing to prepare for the competition on Dec. 4th. This one will be held in Portsmouth, and we are looking forward to seeing some local growth, and some more robotics teams!
